HOW TO IRON ON PATCH OR VINYL TO A FOOTBALL SHIRT?

BEST GUIDE TO APPLY A PATCH OR TRANSFER TO A FOOTBALL SHIRT OF 2021

In this publication from footballhouseuk.com, the experts teach you how to properly put a patch or transfer with the name of your favorite player on your football shirt without damaging the garment. Follow these simple steps as a tutorial and you can put any patch or vinyl on your shirt to get it personalized to your liking.

MATERIALS:

  • Vinyl or Patch to apply to your shirt.
  • Steam iron your clothes. (The typical one that you will have at home to iron your shirts and pants) - We will NEVER use steam to stick the vinyl as it will prevent us from gluing correctly.

STEP 1: PREHEAT THE SHIRT

Before placing the patch or vinyl on top of the shirt, we recommend preheating the area where we want to stick the transfer with the iron in order to stabilize the garment on the ironing table and prepare the shirt.

With the hot iron, the preheat should take about 10-15 seconds depending on the size of the patch or vinyl you want to stick.

STEP 2: APPLY THE TRANSFER OR PATCH

We have already preheated the garment, now place the patch or transfer in the correct position of the garment.

STEP 3: PROTECT THE VINYL WITH WHITE KITCHEN PAPER TOWEL

In the case of the vinyls for the numbers and names of players, they usually come with a protective plastic. Once you have applied heat, you should wait a few seconds for it to cool down to remove it carefully. We recommend starting the removal of the protective plastic from the vinyl in areas that are not corners. In the event that we see that some of the areas of the vinyl have not been glued correctly, we will repeat STEP 2 on that area.

If you still have any questions about how to perform this procedure, here we leave you a video on how to glue a bib and another on how to glue a patch. In case you still have doubts at the end of the video, you can always contact us by simply clicking HERE.
